We saw a sign that said “best expreso martinis in Charleston”, so we came in to try them. Wow! We came back 3 days in a row for these. The bartenders use a Flange cream on top and these drinks are deceptively potent. Then they take a solid bar of chocolate and run it over a grater for an awe inspiring look. If you are in the area, don’t miss an opportunity to try this! You’ll be coming back for more!!!

We dined on a Wednesday evening when it wasn’t very busy, but the service was exceptional. Our server—and the entire staff—was incredibly attentive, making the experience feel special from start to finish. We began with the charcuterie board. Though the selections leaned toward the spicy side, my family enjoyed every bite. We also ordered the hummus, which came with freshly baked bread triangles instead of the usual pita. It was a pleasant twist, and we’d definitely order it again. The market salad sounded so appealing that seven out of the nine of us decided to try it, and it did not disappoint. Our server was more than accommodating with all the customizations we requested—everything came out exactly as asked. The dirty martinis were spot on. And while some insist three olives is the rule, I was happily surprised to receive four. A small touch, but one that made my night.

We came to Charleston for our honeymoon and we’re only here for 3 nights. We came to The Peacock our first night and were impressed with the atmosphere and Joe , that we came back for our last night in town. The vibes, immaculate. The drinks, immaculate. The staff, IMMACULATE. Cassandra was so kind and professional. Joe made the BEST dirty gin martini (and the best drinks). Everyone was so friendly. Wonderful service and atmosphere. This will be my go to place anytime I visit

I spend a lot of my time at Peacock whether it’s for happy hour on the rooftop, live music, events or a great meal that never misses! The atmosphere gives Great Gatsby which I LOVE. One of the best parts too is they accommodate large parties which is hard to find in CHS.

The Peacock Charleston — A MUST see in CHS From the moment you step inside The Peacock, you’re immersed in a carefully curated atmosphere where opulence meets energy. The environment is a standout — think Art Deco flair with a modern twist, layered across multiple levels, each with its own personality. Whether you’re enjoying dinner in the elegant main dining room, sipping craft cocktails in the sultry lounge, or taking in harbor views from the rooftop, every detail feels intentional and elevated. Service throughout the evening was impeccable. The staff was polished yet personable — attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being rehearsed. From the host to our server to the bartender upstairs, the hospitality felt like second nature. Now, let’s talk food: bold flavors, sophisticated presentations, and a globally inspired twist on American favorites. The charred lamb lollipops were perfectly cooked, the crab-stuffed flounder was buttery and fresh, and the crispy chicken sandwich surprised us with its layered complexity. Portions were generous without sacrificing refinement. The music and entertainment brought the whole evening to life. We visited on a Thursday and caught a live jazz set that complemented the vibe perfectly — upbeat yet smooth, allowing for both ambiance and conversation. We later made our way to the speakeasy for DJ sets that kept the energy up well into the night. It’s rare to find a venue where the entertainment doesn’t feel like an afterthought, but here it’s woven into the experience seamlessly. All told, The Peacock is more than just a restaurant — it’s a destination. Whether you’re out for a romantic dinner, hosting friends, or just looking for a night of great food and vibrant energy, this Charleston gem delivers on all fronts. Pro tip: Book a table early, then end your evening on the rooftop with a nightcap. You’ll thank me later

The Peacock in Charleston is such a fun and memorable spot! It has three levels of dining, cocktails, and live entertainment—including a rooftop with gorgeous views of the harbor. The vibe was energetic but still relaxed, and the service was top-notch. Our server, Joshua, was awesome—friendly, attentive, and really made the experience even better. The menu by Chef Matthew Greene is creative and full of flavor, combining classic comfort dishes with international twists. We tried the Smash Burger with local beef and applewood bacon—so juicy and flavorful—and the Market Catch (snowy grouper) was perfectly cooked. The chicken wings were crispy and bold, especially with the mango habanero sauce. And don’t skip dessert—the peach strawberry cobbler with peach ice cream was the perfect sweet ending. Whether you’re going for dinner or just a night out with drinks and music, The Peacock really delivers. Highly recommend checking it out!

We truly couldn't be more impressed with The Peacock, the staff, and the grace everyone presented during this event. We hosted our elopement celebration at the Peacock; the event coordinator (Kelly) and the staff went above and beyond my expectations, making the night extremely enjoyable. The space is perfect to host any type of event, allowing for a separation between dancing, and food/bar area. My guests would not stop talking about how delicious the food was, and the staff even made special to-go boxes for my husband and I! I'll recommend The Peacock to anyone I know, both personally and in my work life, to host their events here! This is a night myself and many others will remember forever- I cant thank you all enough!

The ultimate dining experience is waiting for you at The Peacock in downtown Charleston. So, don't walk, run! In fact, book that flight to Charleston, SC now because like me, you too will fall for Charleston the moment you stroll its cobblestone streets and feel its rich character and Southern magic. From the beautiful, colorful homes in Rainbow Row, to the stunning sunsets over the Charleston Waterfront, to the charming downtown streets, and rich cultural history and heritage of this soulful city, there is something for everyone. And The Peacock fits the bill for this description. I truly believe that we find ourselves in certain places, at specific times, and meet people for all the right reasons. That’s exactly how I felt at The Peacock—like I was meant to be there, at that moment. I happened to stumble upon The Peacock after a quick shopping trip at City Market on my last day in Charleston. But it was very clear that I was meant to find it. Dining at The Peacock was an experience I won’t forget. The space is stunning—rich with 1920s Art Deco influence, with teal, turquoise, and gold details that give it a timeless, elevated feel. It feels like stepping into a modern-day Gatsby lounge, where every corner is thoughtfully designed. Think speakeasy vibes meets old money Gatsby. I had the Lime Light cocktail, and it was perfectly balanced—bright, tart, sweet, and refreshing from the lime, Bombay gin, raspberry, bergamot, and herbaceous from the basil. It was made with such attention to detail. I also ordered the blistered green beans with black garlic, sambal, shoyu, yuzu aioli, and honey roasted peanuts. It was one of those dishes that surprises you—so full of umami flavor, texture, and intentional ingredients. What really stood out and stayed with me, though, was the team. Everyone was genuinely kind and welcoming, and Carley and George behind the bar greeted me with warmth and enthusiasm. Some of the best most talented mixologists I have had the pleasure to meet and enjoy their cocktails. Carley was sweet and we ended up in the most thoughtful conversation, and her words were exactly what I needed that night—grounding, kind, and sincere. She lifted me up with her kindness when I needed it most. It’s rare to feel that kind of warmth and connection in a restaurant setting, and it meant a lot. Thank you so much1 Huge credit to Michelle Van Jura and Chef Matthew Greene for creating an elevated dining experience, that so thoughtfully and intentionally transports you to a time when organic conversations were the mainstay, and everyone makes you feel welcomed. Everything from the design and decor to the quality of the food and the ingenuity of the cocktails blew me away. Hats off to this incredible team, I wish them so much joy, warmth, and community in this space they have worked so hard to create. The Peacock is more than a restaurant—it’s a place you leave feeling better than when you walked in.
